My name is Mehmet YILDIZ, and I was born in Erzurum on April 20, 1991. In the fall of 2010, I enrolled in Gaziantep University's Civil Engineering department, where my love for cinema and reading grew. I was particularly fond of adventure books like The Lord of the Rings, Robinson Crusoe, and Harry Potter. During my second year in university, one of my roommates introduced me to video games, and I discovered a new passion.
I loved that I could immerse myself in the game's world, live the story, and even make decisions. I spent much of my free time playing video games during my university years.
In 2015, I graduated from university and moved to Istanbul, where my family lives. That summer, I started working as a construction site chef at Sima Cephe AS on the Metsan Nexus Kartal Project. Although I continued to play video games, I soon realized that construction work was not for me. However, before I could change jobs, I had to complete my mandatory military service.
After finishing my military service, I returned to Istanbul and started working as a project manager at Emre Aluminyum AS. In this role, I created 2D and 3D drawings, prepared quotations, and served as a customer representative. Although I continued to play video games, I began to feel that something was missing. I wanted to create games instead of just playing them.
So, in 2019, I began researching game development and created a 2D platformer game using GameMaker Studio Engine. I applied for several game developer positions, but I did not succeed, and I had to leave my 2D platformer game unfinished. Because nearly all companies in Turkey was working with Unity game Engine.
After the pandemic, In 2020, I reignited my passion for game development, started making games again, this time using the Unity game engine. I have taken many courses and earned several certificates in gaming development, and I am constantly learning with the goal of becoming a senior game developer.
